SPECS has achieved world-wide recognition for the quality
and function of its engine room oil mist detector (AOMD)
and crankcase oil mist detector (COMD). The company also
supplies various monitoring systems for ship safety and
maintenance. It has developed a bearing wear monitoring
system (BWMS) to predict bearing wear in 2-stroke engines
before the condition becomes critical. The system provides
early warning alarm and a slow down signal if unexpected
problems arise with any of the crank-train bearings,
including crosshead, crank and main bearings.
SPECS also offers a ship energy efficiency monitoring system
(SEEMS) that collects real-time signals related to the
efficiency and performance of ship operation, analyzes the
information and stores the calculated data. It calculates and
displays EEOI & CO2 emission values based on IMO
guidelines, presents trend graphs of the data over variable
time periods, and presents daily, voyage and sea trial
reports. With more than 150 different data points, the
system enables engineers to maintain an optimum ship
maintenance schedule.

Oil mist detector (OMD) systems represent important measurement
to reduce the risk of fire from machinery space flammable oil systems
or explosions induced by oil mist inside diesel engine crankcases.
SPECS' oil mist detector for engine room (AOMD) and the model for
inside crankcase (COMD) have obtained a reputation for top quality
among global clients. SPECS' AOMD and COMD acquired type approvals from major classification societies
around the world to include its atmospheric oil mist detection system for engine rooms, crankcase oil mist
detection system for diesel engines, and new version of crankcase oil mist detection system for diesel engines.

Complete Intercom Systems & CCTV
Hanshin's intercom system provides internal ship communication and broadcasting capabilities. A
talk back function and emergency alarm facilitates easy communication with the crew. The
company's CCTV system is designed for real-time monitoring and event recording. It's able to
record important events with high-resolution image. It can be ordered to conform to different IP
environments in order to complete a local area network for the vessel. Both systems can be used
for marine and offshore applications.

environments. It has an output range of 200W ~ 9,000W and

composed of three parts-filter module, plasma module and

PE coated pipes are very safe and satisfy all requirements of the K Mark
& Kun Mark. The pipes produce neither VOCs, dioxin and toxic
substances nor rust in the spraying salt water tests (30 days, 720 hours).
Construction is easy and simple, because the pipes are connected by
bolt and nut without the need for additional work like welding. PE
Coating has mechanical properties, so it is able to withstand heavy
weights and high water pressure.
The coating has passed the flowing water impact test (33 times). It has
excellent durability against abrasion, so the replacement period is three
times longer than other pipes and can be used for sea water pipe lines.

HI AIR KOREA's high-pressure, high-velocity air conditioning plant systems were developed and
designed in the early fifties, pioneering stable, optimum climatic conditions for passengers and
crew on board ships sailing the seven seas. Marine installations include giant super tankers,
container ships, offshore projects, FPSOs, Ro-Ro vessels, naval vessels and advanced passenger
ferries.

Air handling unit can be used with SINGLE-PIPE AC System, TWIN-PIPE AC System and
RE-HEAT AC system (electric reheater or hot water reheater) with the combination of
different types of cabin units. Air handling unit type HKA is specially designed for
marine air conditioning installations. Each section is designed as a modular system and
consists of a rigid framework made of square sections with specially assembled corners.
The sections are made of galvalume and internally well insulated. Equipment such as
fan, motor and filter mat can be simply removed from its section through inspection
doors fitted to ensure easy maintenance.

highly efficient. In fact, the STP test results for six criteria
(BOD, COD, Ph, TSS, Coliform and TRO) meet the IMO
inflow and outflow criteria and have been reported to be

friendly plants utilize a recirculation system, meaning that
no untreated water remains within the unit
In addition to being highly efficient, the Hoseung STP is
easy to maintain with nearly no need to replace internal
parts, easily replaced external parts and separable 1st screen
as well as semi-automatic 2nd filter steam cleaning process.

LHE offers an eco-friendly distiller to convert seawater into
high-quality freshwater using an efficient evaporation and
condensation process. The heart of the fresh water
generator is a single titanium plate that incorporates
evaporation, separation and condensation processes in one
unit. The LHE Woorisoo system is capable of treating
seawater with 20,000 to 35,000 parts per million (PPM) to
produce fresh water at 0.5 to 10 PPM with a capacity of 10
to 60 tons per day depending on the model (Woorisoo-
65/80/100).
At 850mm in width, 1,500mm in height and 750-
1,850mm in length and weighing from 950 kilograms to
1,240 kilograms depending on model, the LHE fresh water
generator is easy to install and with no outer shell, it
requires minimum maintenance area. With a reduced
seawater-pumping requirement, the system features low

The LHE plate and frame heat exchanger is fixed by a number of thin and
corrugated heat transfer plates. These heat transfer plates provide flow
channels for two kinds of fluid, while the chevrons on the heat transfer
plate make the flow turbulent and play a role in supporting the plate
against the pressure difference between the two fluids.
The heat transfer plate is corrugated to maximize heat transfer efficiency
and the chevrons are designed to make countercurrent flow, which
diminishes the quantity of fluid remaining in the heat exchanger and
eliminates the dead-zone. This plate heat exchanger can obtain several
times the heat transfer efficiency compared with shell and tube heat
exchangers.

This system is designed to prevent the adhesion of marine growths to the internal pipelines of
ships through the chemical reaction of chlorine compounds produced from the electrolyzation of
sea water. The sea water taken from the outlet of one of the common sea water pumps or pumps
for exclusive use in MGPS is fed into the generating chamber, in
which the sea water is electrolyzed with specially designed
electrodes. Then, the sea water containing chlorine compounds
is injected into scoops or sea chests through nozzles to mix with
the sea water sucked in from outside of the ship, thus preventing
marine growths from adhering to the interior of the ships sea
water lines including sea chest, piping and heat exchanger.

Fuel injection engine parts are used for controlling the amount of fuel and
delivering fuel to the engine. Fuel injection valves for diesel fuel injection
delivers atomized fuel from an injection pump into the cylinder valve. Fuel
injection nozzles are made of brass housing with stainless steel inserts. The
fuel injection pump is operates by gears on the crankshaft, through a toothed
timing belt or chain.

This fresh water generator uses the engine coolant as a heat source and produces
fresh water by evaporating and condensing sea water. To evaporate sea water, it only
uses the heat from the coolant, so while a vessel is sailing, it uses the main engine,
and while a vessel is in port it uses the auxiliary engine to produce fresh water.
While the generator is running, the internal section is in vacuum, so the boiling
point of sea water is lower. The vapor becomes water drops by refrigeration from
cold sea water.

Electric range with oven for vessels is made of stainless steel and has an attractive
appearance and advanced styling with tubular stainless steel legs with 1-hole
flanged adjustable feet for deck mounting. The panel can be opened at the front for
easy service & inspection of its components as well as cleaning. The product also
features removable and adjustable storm rail for safety; top section consisting of 4
(300mm x 300mm) plates or 6 plates with 6 position controls; blocked stainless
spillage tray; high quality electrical elements installed and convenient configuration
of hot plate cable array and lower shelf easily compatible with the baking oven.

Vacuum toilet system is installed in places that require water-saving like ships,
offshore plants, trains and aircraft. A flexible pipe line is one of the vacuum toilet
system's advantages, along with flexible construction, adaptability to ships, offshore
plants and buildings, discharge of sewage without a discharge pump to sewage
and waste water collection tanks, vacuuming grey water, black water separately
with one system.

Vacuum Toilet System
Made of stainless steel, this is cooking equipment that can boil, stir-fry, griddle and
fry using heated medium oil in an oil jacket below the kettle. The boiling point
reaches 220 degrees C, and, therefore, cooking time is reduced significantly. It is a
multi-functional device for cooking and maintaining food temperature.

Korea Marine Equipment Statistics
KOMEA member companies posted 13.2 trillion won in
marine equipment production in 2011, compared with
14.2 trillion won in 2010, which is estimated to represent
about 80% of Koreas total marine equipment output.

The engine & machinery segment scored overseas
shipments of US$1.13 billion last year. Outfittings were the
second-leading export item at US$603 million, followed by
electric & electronics at US$338 million and hulls with
US$179 million.

about 63,600 persons in 2012. Engine & machinery took

Korea Shipbuilding Scoreboard
Riding the wave of offshore supremacy, the order volume secured
by Korean shipbuilders in 2012 reached about US$30 billion,
according to Clarkson's data.
Korean shipyards reconfirmed their global competitiveness
particularly in the fields of offshore plants and high value-added
ships by winning 73% of the world's LNG carrier orders (24 ships,
about US$4.9 billion) and 67% of drillship orders (26 ships, about
US$9.3 billion).
Among the two units each of LNG-FPSO and FPSO (about US$770
million/unit) ordered throughout the world in 2012, Korean
shipbuilders clinched one of each and also won all four units of
LNG-FSRUs (about US$1.2 billion) ordered last year.
The market scale of the global offshore equipment industry
exceeded US$150 billion in 2012 and is projected to continue
strong annual average growth of 7% for the next 20 years.
This year, Koreas enthusiasm for the offshore sector is expected to
heat up even further as major shipyards, including Hyundai Heavy
Industries (HHI), Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Daewoo
Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), have established a
combined order-securing target of US$58.8 billion in which the
offshore sector has taken the lions share.
Under this changing industrial landscape, domestic marine
equipment companies are turning increasingly to production of
equipment and materials for offshore plants. A survey conducted by
the Leading Industry Development Support Corps for Southeastern
Economic Region in June last year on 1,000 marine equipment
companies based in the region found that about 300 companies
(30%) were manufacturing and supplying single-product-type or
module-type offshore plant equipment and materials, although the
scales differed.
