Mobile wireline facilities provide cost-effective support for deepwater exploration in Tanzania
CHALLENGE:
The deep water off Tanzania is one of the hottest frontiers
in the industry. But Tanzania has virtually no oilfield
infrastructure or support services in place.
SOLUTION:
Halliburton supported five deepwater exploration wells
with portable infrastructure, proven technology and reliable
processes that overcame logistical hurdles. Unique,
containerized lab and maintenance operations were
ready to go when they reached the rig.
RESULT:
Halliburton finished all jobs on time and on budget. By
combining up to 13 tools in one workstring, Halliburton
minimized trips. The operator was so pleased with the cost
effectiveness that they extended Halliburtons contract and
increased its scope.
