Ego

The document discusses how the author's ego led them to abruptly leave a situation where they were insulted in front of acquaintances, rather than staying and addressing any misconceptions politely. In a moment of reflection, the author realized it was their enlarging ego boosting their departure rather than defending their wounded self-respect. Had the author followed their senses instead of their ego, the ending may have been more satisfactory as their politeness could have won more respect. The message is that people often confuse ego with self-worth, ignoring that ego in large amounts can drive people away like a ticking bomb due to no one wanting to suffer emotional injuries.

EGO That Ends Good Ones

It was just two months back, when I was insulted in front of my acquaintances for merely nothing. On
the first sound of Get Out my legs wont co-operate to stand there and clear the misconceptions.
Instead I bolted out with disgrace for the person accompanied with a volcano of rage ready to blast my
sanity with the lava of wounded self respect.
But was it my sulking self esteem or my enlarging ego that boosted my abrupt step. A moment of
mature analysis said the later was the core. If I had followed my senses instead of my ego may be the
ending would have been a bit satisfactory. My politeness could have won me even more respect.
Thats where the message implies; people often confuse their ego with their self worth ignoring the fact
that it is just a fine line dividing the both. Having a bit ego is no bad but when it makes us forget our
wisdom it starts driving people away from us just like a ticking bomb does because no one wants to
suffer whether it be physical injury or an emotional one. EGO -small is the word, but large is the curse
when badly it is nursed. It depends on how important it is for us?
