1. BODY COVERING
Body covering of animals is important in
adaptation
The body covering maybe skin, scales, feather
or fur
These helps the animals maintain their body
temperature

Frogs have
moist skin that
allows oxygen
to pass through
Crocodiles have
thorny scales
that protects
them when they
move on land
Feather and fur keep some animals warm
during cold weather
Some birds swim to get their food
Their body oil makes the feather waterproof
so that their skin feels dry.
Body covering also protects animals from their
enemies
Porcupine has
needle-like
sharp quills
that can get
stuck into the
enemies
body
2. FEET, CLAWS AND TEETH
Dogs and cats use their sharp claws to fught
enemies
Tigers, leopards and lions use their sharp and
pointed teeth and powerful claws to fight
when provoked.
Some animals have thorns to protect them
like carabaos, cows and goats
