SIXTEEN (16) GOOD CITIZENSHIP VALUES


I. PAGKAMADIYOS
1. Faith in Almighty God
Moral: Faith alone, without work, is useless
God helps those who help themselves

2. Respect for life
Moral: Treat life with respect, and life itself will reveal its beauty to you.

3. Order
Moral: Charity begins at home.

4. Work
Moral: Work is a timeless occupation. It is both for the young and old.
Dont settle for mediocre work. Instead, aim for excellence in
everything you do.
Great men are ordinary persons who work extraordinarily well.

5. Concern for the family and future generations
Moral: We can get so involved in what we are doing that we forget why we
are doing it. We get so involved in living that we forget the purpose of
living. We can get so involved in pursuing the things money can buy that
we forget about the things that money cant buy. We should not forget the
basic.

II. PAGKAMAKATAO

1. Love
Moral: In the end, Love is all that matters.


2. Freedom
Moral: If others cease being human to us, we mustnt cease being human
to them. . . for it is in our nature to care and love.

3. Peace
Moral: Let there be peace on earth. . . and let it begin with me.

4. Truth
Moral: Be not afraid of the Truth. The truth will set you free.
The truth is weightier than gold.
5. Justice
Moral: Justice is giving every man his due.

III. PAGKAMAKA-BAYAN

1. Unity
Moral: We too can change our society and overcome seemingly
insurmountable problems if we eradicate our selfishness and rebuild
peaceful relationships.

2. Equality
Moral: Each man may differ in worldly stature, but each one bears the
same amount of dignity as another and all share one common destiny.

3. Respect for Law and Government
Moral: Every person must learn and understand the laws of the land, the
role of our leaders and his own duties and responsibilities that he may
accordingly as a good citizen.




4. Patriotism
Moral: Sometimes, somehow, everybody needs somebody to lean on; for
no one is so rich or poor that he cant accept or receive help, love and care
from others.

5. Promotion of the Common Good
Moral: The real heroes among us are those who live their lives daily in
genuine concern for the welfare of others.

IV. PAGKAMAKA-KALIKASAN

1. Concern for the Environment
Moral: Mother Nature is an all-giving mother. While she gives fully, man
abuses her relentlessly. It is time that we care for our ailing Mother Nature
so that she will regain her beauty and strength once again, enabling her to
share her life and abundance with us.
