Salary: Grade 1: 13,621 - 14,665 per annum pro-rata
Part-time/ Permanent


Manchester Metropolitan University are currently recruiting a Domestic Assistant to provide a
professional cleaning service, undertaking a comprehensive range of light and heavy cleaning and
using the appropriate equipment. They will ensure that accommodation for students, staff, and
conference trade is maintained to the highest standard.
The duties of the job include:

Assist with all aspects of cleaning both internally and externally to maintain hygiene standards in all
buildings.
Dusting, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, washing floors, removal of curtains and blinds for cleaning,
refuse collection, cleaning toilets and basic external cleaning.
Replenish consumables such as towels, soap and toilet rolls, in toilets and washrooms, in line with
Service Level Agreements.
Safely store all equipment and machinery, following safe working practices when doing so.
Have a clean and tidy appearance and wear uniform and protective clothing as issued.
Participate in further training, staff meetings and departmental communication sessions which will
help keep individuals informed and as such help to achieve the required standards across Facilities

We would like to hear from you if you have/are:

The ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instruction and procedures and to
communicate clearly in the English language
The ability to carry out duties as outlined in the Job Description which include bending, walking,
pushing, lifting, climbing stairs, and handling equipment
A basic level of literacy and numeracy required
Experience of lifting and handling heavy and awkward items.
Experience using cleaning chemicals, equipment and cleaning methods
