HP Bypass

The document discusses the operation and control of high pressure and low pressure bypass systems on steam turbines. The HP bypass is used to raise steam parameters during turbine rolling, allow parallel operation with the turbine during load rejection, and prevent safety valves from opening at raised steam pressures. It opens automatically based on downstream temperature, drain pot level, and condenser vacuum. The LP bypass automatically shuts off based on low condenser vacuum, spray water pressure, high condenser wall temperature, and high downstream pressure.
