Square Trick 1: Square of A Number Ending in 5

This document outlines three shortcuts for squares and cube roots. The first is for numbers ending in 5, where you multiply the left part by itself plus one and add 25 to the end. The second is for numbers with all 1s, where you write the numbers ascending then descending. The third is for cube roots, where you ignore the last 3 digits, find the number whose cube is less than or equal to the left part, and determine the right part based on the last digit.

Suppose we want to find the square of 205.

Here last digit is 5 and left part is 20

Solution:
(Left)*(Left + 1)|25
=(20)*(20+1)|25
=20*21|25
=420|25
=42025

Suppose we want to find the square of 75.
Here last digit is 5 and left part is 7

Solution:
(Left)*(Left + 1)|25
=(7)*(7+1)|25
=7*8|25
=56|25
=5625

Square trick 2: square of a number containing only 1

Condition:

Number should contain only 1s. example of such numbers are 11, 111, 1111. etc.

Short trick used:

Write 1234 up to the number of 1s in the given number first in ascending order then in descending order.

i.e. (1111n times)2 = 1234.till n..4321

Trick no 3:Trick to Find Cube Root of a number without Calculator

We will follow these steps to find the cube root of a number:

Ignore the last 3 digits of the number. Let remaining number be I.
From the above table check which numbers cube is less than or equal to I. It will be left part of our answer. Let it
be L.
Let Right part of our answer be R. It will be determined from the above table. For Ex. If last digit of question is 7,
then last digit of our answer will be 3.
