GENERAL OBJECTIVES

Math 2

(Trigonometry)

A three- unit course which deals with Plane Trigonometry. Topics include angles, circles, trigonometric
functions of acute angle/any angle, solutions of right triangle, solutions of oblique triangle, graphs of
trigonometric functions , identities and trigonometric equations.
On completion of the course , the student should be able to :

A. COGNITIVE
1. Define the basic terms and principles of Plane Trigonometry.
2. State the mathematical facts and principle of Plane Trigonometry.
3. apply the mathematical principles to practical situations.
4. apply mathematical thinking and reasoning to solve practical problems .
5. solve trigonometric problems
6. demonstrate knowledge of the topics take.
B. AFFECTIVE :
1. recognize the role of mathematics in national and world economy.
2. appreciate the role of mathematics in everyday life.
3. recognize the role of systematic planning in solving mathematical problems.
4. acquire the problem solving attitude.
5. acquire the pursuit-for-truth attitude.
6. demonstrate self-reliance in working independently
7. practice cooperation in group activities.
8. demonstrate flexibility in solving problems.
9. accept responsibility for his own behavior
10. formulate a life plan in harmony with his interest, abilities and beliefs
