a) in L/km
L/km= miles driven / gallons used
L/km = 950km/75L
L/km = 12.66 or 12.7km/L answer//

b. L/100 km

L/100 km = L x 100/km
L/100km = 75L x 100/950km
L/100km = 7.89L/100km or 7.9L/100km answer//

A car travels 950km on 75L of petrol. Calculate its fuel consumption rate:
a) in L/km
Petrol in litres =75 L
DIstance in km=950
Fuel consumption rates in L/km=75/950=3/38 =0.07895 L/km apprx.

b) in L/100km
Fuel consumption rates in L/100km=(3/38)100=7.895 apprx.

Your question asks for a fuel consumption rate
in units of liters per km.
(Normally, fuel consumption is km per liter).
This, however is irrelevant.
If you use 75 liters traveling 950 km,
the consumption rate is 75l/950km = .079 liters/km = 7.9 l/100km
(or conventionally 950 km/75 l = 12 km/l)
