Secure Localization Using PSO and GD Methods For Under Water Wireless Sensor Networks A Research Proposal
This document proposes research on securing localization for underwater wireless sensor networks. The objectives are to conduct a literature review on underwater sensor networks, propose energy-efficient and secure localization techniques, and investigate secure data aggregation schemes. The methodology will implement a particle swarm optimization algorithm to estimate distances between nodes and anchors, integrated with a gradient descent approach. The expected outcomes are applying the algorithm in an underwater sensor network simulation, evaluating its effectiveness against wormhole attacks, and analyzing performance metrics like detection accuracy, energy consumption, and security.

Secure Localization Using PSO and GD Methods
for Under Water Wireless Sensor Networks
A Research Proposal Under the Supervision of, Dr. Dinesh Anvekar, Director. Entrepreneurship Development Program, Prof. dept of CSE CMRIT,Bengaluru-37 Presented by, Mrs.Shanthi M B, Asst.Proff. Dept of CSE, CMRIT.Bengaluru-37 AGENDA Introduction Problem Identification Objectives of the Work to be done Methodology Possible Outcomes
INTRODUCTION UW-WSNs are deployed in aquatic medium Consists of large amount of distributed, unmanned and insecure Sensor nodes. Sensor nodes form clusters. The sink transmits the information from the sensors to surface station. Example UW-WSN
Lack of security mechanisms in UW- WSNs. Oftenly exposed to wormhole attacks. Routing attacks can hinder the entire network operation.
Objectives of the related research work
To do detailed literature survey of UWSN. To propose an energy efficient and secure localization techniques for UWSNs. To investigate secure data aggregation schemes in UWSNs and suggest improvement based upon research gaps. Methodology
Implementation of algorithm using PSO. Emulates the behavior of animal societies like fish schooling.
PSO estimates the distance between local node and the anchor node. distance estimation technique is integrated with Gradient Descent Approach
Expected outcomes
The AQUASIM patch will be applied for under water sensor network. Proving the effectiveness of the security algorithm against worm hole attack. Performance is evaluated in terms of detection accuracy, packet drop ratio, energy consumption and Security parameters.
