Standards Description of
Application to Project
Evidence Date
1. Creativity and Innovation
Students demonstrate creative
thinking, construct knowledge,
and develop innovative products
and processes using technology.
Students:

a.
apply existing knowledge to
generate new ideas, products,
or processes.

b.
create original works as a
means of personal or group
expression.

c.
use models and simulations
to explore complex systems
and issues.

d.
identify trends and forecast
possibilities.

Creativity and Innovation was used
in my Green Up Project because I
used my existing knowledge about
Green Up Day and how the school
should be involved more then
made it happen. It brought a group
together to help clean up our
community.

I used models on my website to
explain how the school is being
green to show energy usage
between last year and this years
energy usage.

Also, I promoted that people get
involved and showed them ways
they could help such as making
posters, posting photos to the
Instagram account, saving energy,
etc.

2. Communication and
Collaboration Students use
digital media and environments
to communicate and work
collaboratively, including at a
distance, to support individual
learning and contribute to the
learning of others. Students:

a. interact, collaborate, and
publish with peers, experts,
or others employing a variety
of digital environments and
media.

b. communicate information
and ideas effectively to
multiple audiences using a
variety of media and formats.

Communication and Collaboration
was definitely essential for my
Green Up Project because I had to
gain permission from staff
members to gather materials and
allow classes to go out. I also sent
emails to teachers at Mill River
who are involved in being green or
who run/ran the Green Team.

I met with Teacher Mrs. Tally to
discuss data or information about
what exactly the Green Team does
and she gave me very useful
information to my website. Mr.
Gamache gave me the story about
how the Green Team began.

Sent emails to
multiple people
and put up
information about
the MRU project on
the official Green
Up Day Vermont
website.

c. develop cultural

awareness by engaging with
learners of other cultures.

d. contribute to project teams to

solve problems.

3. Research and Information
Fluency Students apply digital
tools to gather, evaluate, and use
information. Students:

a. plan strategies to guide
inquiry.

b. locate, organize, analyze,
evaluate, synthesize, and
ethically use information
from a variety of sources and
media.

c. evaluate and select
information sources and
digital tools based on the
appropriateness to specific
tasks.

d. process data and report
results.

Research and Information Fluency
was used in my Green Up Project
because I had to find ways to get
the word out and let people know
how to Green Up.

I created a Twitter account to
Tweet about the movement in
Green Up Day but only tweeted a
few times. I followed people who
attend Mill River. I also created an
Instagram which people could
Direct Message photos of their
Green Up adventures or show
areas that need help.

I got graphs from Mrs. Tally about
the schools energy usage and put
the data on my website to show
the progress.

Instagram is the
same name, but I
failed to post
photos yet.

Although the Digital Citizenship did
not play a large role in my Green
Up Project, I still included aspects
to my site that relate to this. I
provided citations for every piece
of material on my website that I
did not have property over.

I also made the Twitter and
Instagram to get the word out
over Social Media.

My site has a positive attitude
towards helping the planet and
cleaning up communities to
increase the quality of life for
everyone.

6. Technology Operations and
Concepts Students
demonstrate a sound
understanding of technology
concepts, systems, and
operations. Students:

I was able to make a slideshow
and put it on my site, there is a
video I put up, and the graphs and
information I received from Mrs.
Tally. I created tabs that decorated
and made my site more
resourceful and insightful. I

I created posters that I
posted around the school
explaining the project, how
to get involved, and the day
it would be held. Also,
