Exercise 2 Axial Element

The document describes setting up a finite element model to analyze the displacements and stresses in a compound structural member subjected to an axial load. Three materials are defined corresponding to different cross section sizes. Nodes are placed at points A, C, E and F, and elements are drawn between the nodes. The node at A is constrained, and a 1000N load is applied at node F. The model is solved to determine displacements at the nodes and axial stresses in the elements.
