COMPOSITION
Please take three photographs of the same subject matter by using the three different
approaches to composition listed below:
! Rule of thirds
! Centering the main subject matter
! One image following no specific composition rule. You!ll have to explain why this
composition makes sense.
Take three additional images of different subjects. Pay special attention to your
composition and again explain your decision making process.
Additionally, include your favorite image of the Wang Center photo shoot.
As in all of your photographic endeavors, reflect on what to include and what to exclude.
Make sure that you avoid any distracting elements in your images!

LANDSCAPE
This includes any sort of landscape, from urban to untouched natural settings, land and
water. You may include people, but the primary focus should be on the environment.
Besides compositional considerations, lighting and weather conditions are a primary
concern in landscape photography. Carefully reflect on that in order to create a mood that
enhances your subject matter.

PORTRAIT ASSIGNMENT
Take two environmental portraits indoor and two environmental portraits outdoor using
available light.
One special challenge to consider is the fact that indoor portraits might require you to
shoot on a steady surface or use a tripod due to low light.
No flash please!
The environment (and/or objects) you use for this assignment become an important factor
and should reflect on the person you are photographing.
