Validation of Competency Model

The document discusses validating a competency model. It explains that validation is done in three stages: content validation sessions, reinforcing proficiency of critical competencies, and refining competency definitions if needed. The content validation session involves bringing together managers and employees to validate the skills and competencies identified in the model. It also checks for ease of understanding and implementation of the model. Reinforcing proficiency examines how proficiency levels are defined, valued, and will be used, and handles any insecurities about using proficiency levels. The final stage refines competency definitions if needed through workshops with top management and pilot focus groups.

adequate data and information to progress with
the competency definition and proficiency
mapping exercise.

competency development work process.
Run pilot workshops where ever necessary

Reinforce proficiency of criticalcompetencies:

essential to be conducted throughsimilar cross

levelshave been articulated, valued and how
theywould be used.

usage of proficiency levels.
Run pilot workshops where necessary.
