Chapter 4 Test: Plot and Label The Ordered Pairs

1) The document contains a chapter 4 test by Mr. Soto on February 13, 2007 which includes plotting ordered pairs, graphing equations, finding slopes of lines between points, and evaluating functions for given x-values. 2) The first section has students plot and label 4 ordered pairs. 3) Later sections have students graph and find intercepts of equations, find slopes of lines between 3 sets of points, and evaluate 3 functions for given x-values.

Mr. Soto
February 13, 2007

Plot and label the ordered pairs

1. A(-2, 3)
2. B(-4, 0 )
3. C(7, -5)
4. D(6, 1)

1
Graph the equation, make a table of values.
1. y = −3x + 4
2. −y = −5x + 2

3. y − x = 8

2
Graph the equation, find x and y intercepts.
1. y = 15 − 5x
2. 10x − 5y = −20

3
Find the slope of the line passing through the
points:
1. (-2, 5) and (15, 4)

2. (0, -2) and (3, -6)

3. (1, -3) and (6, -3)

Evaluate the function for the given value of x

1. f (x) = x − 7 , when x = −4

2. f (x) = 12x + 6 , when x = −6

3. f (x) = −3x − 4 , when x = 4
