Sammakkaa Saarakka Fair also called as Jatara, the largest tribal religious congregation of the

world began in Andhra Pradesh at Medaram in Warangal district of the Telangana region on
12 February 2014.

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg became the youngest and the most generous
philanthropist of America in 2013. This was revealed by the Chronicle of Philanthropy on 10
February 2014.

Penguin India, the publisher of book The Hindus: An Alternative History on 11 February
2014 agreed to withdraw the book from the Indian market

The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee was conferred Award of Honour on 11 February
2014 in New Delhi. The award was presented by Ron Burton, President of Rotary
International at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 11 February 2014 revoked the ban imposed on
Indian Olympic Association (IOA). The step paved the way for Indias return into the
Olympic fold.

Indian-Origin Ashok Varadhan was appointed as the co-head of the Goldman Sachs'
securities division on 11 February 2014. This division is the most profitable and the largest
unit among the global investment bank's four units.

India was ranked 8th in the list of ten countries in terms of digital governance. The report on
digital governance was released by Accenture on 11 February 2014.
The list was topped by Singapore followed by Norway and UAE at second and third place
respectively
