BIOS/CMOS SETUP

Task 1: Configure BIOS Setup

Steps:
1. Turn on the computer.
2. Press Del or F2 key to enter BIOS Setup.
3. At BIOS Setup window, select Standard CMOS Features.
4. At Standard CMOS Features, you can configure Date, Time, Hard disk, CD-ROM Drive and
Floppy Disk Drive Parameters.

Primary IDE Master:


Primary IDE Slave:
Secondary IDE Master:
Secondary IDE Slave:

Drive A: 1.44MB, 3.5 inch


Drive B: None
Video: EGA/VGA
Halt On: All Errors

5. Press Esc to quit Standard CMOS Setup


6. Select Advanced BIOS Features for Boot Sequence configuration

First Boot Device : CDROM


Second Boot Device : Hard Disk
Third Boot Device : Floppy

Note: To change the boot sequence, select the device (ex: CDROM), press enter and select the
desired device for the intended boot sequence.

7. After applying any changes to CMOS setup, press F10 to save changes to CMOS and EXIT
SETUP

Save to CMOS and EXIT (Y/N)? Y (press enter)

Note:
Esc: Quit : Select Item PgUp/PgDn/+/-: Modify
F1: Help Shift F2: Change Color
Task 2: Set / Change / Disable System Password

To set password:

1.Turn on the computer.


2.Press Del or F2 key to enter BIOS Setup
3.Select user Supervisor or User Password menu.
4.To set password.

Enter Password : ex: TESDA (press enter)


Confirm Password : TESDA (press enter)

5.Press F10 to Save and Exit Setup.

To change password:

1.Turn on the computer and press Del or F2 key to enter BIOS Setup.
2.Enter Password: ex: TESDA
3.Select Supervisor or User Password menu

Enter Password : ex: RTC (press enter)


Confirm Password : RTC (press enter)

4.Press F10 to Save and Exit Setup.

To disable password

3 Ways:
1. Disable password at BIOS Setup.

 Turn on the computer and press Del or F2 key to enter BIOS Setup
 Enter Password: ex: RTC (press enter)
 Select Supervisor or User Password menu

Enter Password: (Do not type any password, just press Enter)
PASSWORD DISABLED!!!
Press any key to continue

 Press F10 to Save and Exit Setup.

2. Set CMOS jumper to clear the CMOS Settings.


3. Remove and reinsert CMOS battery.
