This document proposes developing an online bus reservation system using ASP.NET. The system would allow users to check availability, purchase tickets, and pay online. It would provide convenience to customers by allowing ticket booking from anywhere at any time. The system would require a computer, .NET Framework 3.5, Visual Studio 2010, SQL Express and have minimum system requirements of 256MB RAM, 20GB hard disk, Intel Pentium 4 processor and Windows XP or newer. Security would be prioritized but intrusions on the web would require monitoring.

Objective:-
To create e-ticketing project for online bus
reservation system, using ASP.NET

Introduction:-
The Online Bus Reservation System is a web based
application that allows users to check bus ticket
availability, buy bus ticket and pay the fare online.
This system is available for all the users after
gaining access from the administrator.

Scope:-
The online system is an easy to use self-service which
enables the customer to buy bus tickets and pay the fare
through credit cards. Users can register as a member if
they want before they buy bus ticket. Customers have to
check availability of bus tickets before they buy the bus
tickets. After this process is successful the customer can
get the bus ticket by printout. Beside the departure place,
arrival place, departure date, departure time and ticket
number, the bus ticket will also state the seat number that
is assigned by the system automatically.

Constraints:-
The applicants require a computer to submit
their information.
Although the security is given high importance,
there is always a chance of intrusion in the
World Wide Web which requires a constant
monitoring.
The user has to be careful while submitting their
credit card information.

Conclusion:-
By making this system, users are able to book tickets
at their own convenience anywhere and anytime
with very less effort.
