In QTP, the shared object repository can be converted to an XML format called the XML Object Repository. To export, open the object repository manager, go to the resources tab, select the shared object repository, and choose export to XML. To import, open the object repository manager, go to file and select import from XML, then open the XML file to add it to the shared object repository without needing to open QTP. The XML repository allows updating object properties and values directly in the XML without opening QTP.
