It is a teaching model that uses teacher demonstration and explanation together with student practice and feedback to help students gain well defined knowledge and skills that they may be able to use in the future.
Planning
Implementing
Identify topic: You must identify the topic. Procedural skill is best taught with this model. This is a prescribed set of procedures. Specify learning objectives: specify objectives that you want your students to perform skills automatically and what you want your students to be able to apply to a new context. Select examples and problems: plan out examples to show your students to help them understand the topic and set up problems for them to practice to help them do it automatically and are able to apply it to new context.
Introduction and Review: review knowledge the students should have to do this lesson. Then introduce in a way that attracts the students attention. Presentation: Students involvement is important in this phase. Guided Practice: provide guided practice when needed. This is based on your professional judgment. Independent Practice: In this phase students will work on their skills on their own. It will take place in class and in homework given. Throughout implementing, make sure students think on important components and are able to understand the process and are able to support their understanding
Assessment
Students are assessed on whether or not they can answer the problem given. Teachers must be careful with the wording of the problem given. Make sure the students understand the concept and not just memorization of the original problem.
Motivation
