Procedure: Evidence Based Practices Spring Semester 2014

Students were split into groups and given butcher paper and dice. Each student took turns rolling the dice and writing down two-digit by one-digit multiplication problems based on the roll. They had four minutes to write as many problems and answers as possible without using the number 1. A few students received times tables to help solve the problems. Then the groups rotated to check another group's work, with the group having the most correct problems named the "Math Wizards."

Evidence Based Practices Spring Semester 2014 Procedure 1.

) Teacher will pass out a sheet of butcher paper to each group 2.) Teacher will pass out one dice to each student and a marker 3.) Students will be told that each time they roll their dice they are to write down that number in a two digit by one digit format. a. Note- Students are not allowed to use the number 1 4.) Student will only have four minutes to get as many two digit by one digit multiplication problems down and answer them correctly. a. Selected few will be give a times table to help them calculat their multiplication problems 5.) Once the time is up the groups will rotate to another group where they will then check the prior groups work. 6.) Which ever group has the most correct problems earned the title of Math Wizards
