Determine the elements of a short story II SUBJECT MATTER LEARNING ESSENTIALS 1 Unifying Theme: Revisiting History Materials: EE IV pp. 3-17 T-made visuals Graphic Organizers III - STRATEGIES Motivation/Priming: - Call the students attention to the importance of Revisiting History Pre-Reading: - Noting effectiveness of textual aids: headings/titles, visuals, quotes, etc - Getting meaning through word analysis: suffixes, prefixes etc. Reading: - Distinguishing different types of sources of information (pp. 5-6 Read text and answer comprehension check) Language Focus: - Using it in a sentence correctly - Listening and taking down notes from lecturettes/oral reports

IV PRACTICE Download any war-related story into your burn notebook. Upload any reactions to it The use of graphic organizers is highly encouraged

V EVALUATION Activities in each learning episodes will be evaluated as output of the lessons. The following rubric will be the basis: - Content (this pertains to the meat of the output) 20 pts. - Organization (this pertains to how the output is put into a unit, grammar and other elements of language will be considered) 20 pts. - Delivery (this criterion will highlight how the output is presented as a product showcase to the class) 10 pts.
