The document defines and describes different types of quadrilaterals: 1. Any shape with four sides is a quadrilateral. Specific types include squares, rectangles, trapezoids, parallelograms, and rhombuses. 2. A square has four equal sides and four right angles. A rectangle has four right angles but not necessarily equal sides. 3. A trapezoid has one pair of parallel sides, a parallelogram has two pairs of parallel sides, and a rhombus has four equal sides like a diamond.
