I am grateful for the chance to present my resume to you in hopes I will be considered for a position as a primary teacher in your school district. I recently graduated early in December from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I currently hold an Ohio teaching license (PreK-3) and am currently working on my Reading Endorsement at University of Cincinnati. I am passionate about education and excited to share my 21st century teaching strategies and technology skills into the classroom. I have dreamed of becoming an educator since I was in fifth grade because of one teachers influence on my love of learning that continues to permeate to my students today. I began pursuing a teaching career my junior year of high school where I participated in Teacher Academy for two years and gained a year of experience observing and teaching in a first grade classroom. I have two educators as parents who have instilled the importance of schooling and demonstrated the responsibilities that create an outstanding educator. As my resume demonstrates, I have had the opportunity to teach children from every continent, excluding Antarctica. I believe these experiences abroad set me apart from other candidates because of my determination to make a difference. Being immersed within a mixture of cultures has given me practice with many English language learners and has positively affected my communication skills and ability to understand and work cooperatively with parents, coworkers, and children with different lifestyles. My greatest strengths in the classroom include creating rapport with students and developing a sincere relationship. I believe creating a safe environment and promoting positive relationships with each student is fundamental to feel a strong sense of community within the classroom. I believe in the unlimited potential of all children and am determined to make a difference in their education and their lives. I am passionate about teaching from the students interests and challenging students to think creatively through hands-on opportunities that promote selfreflection. Thank you for considering me as a candidate and I look forward to hearing from you and discussing with you the many ways in which my varied educational experiences have developed me into the successful teacher I am today. I will be a positive asset to your school district because I am determined to make sure each child I work with knows they have someone who truly cares for them and encourages their life goals and believes in their unlimited success. Sincerely, Chelsea Farrell 513-518-2472 [email protected]
