Abstract o F SS7 Signalling in Wireless Networks
Digital cellular networks are the segment of the market for mobile and wireless devices, which are growing very rapidly. There are wireless extensions of traditional PSTN or SDN networks, which allow for nationwide or even worldwide seamless roaming, with the same mobile phone. This is possible only with the advancements in Signaling, which is a software building block of telecommunication system. !ur pro"ect mainly aims at common channel signaling in wireless networks, which is more advantageous than channel associated signaling #$%S&. 'ere we deal with SS( Signaling in )S*+$D*% networks. Signaling system no.( is architecture for performing out,of,band signaling in support of call establishment, billing and routing and information exchange functions of public switched telephone network #PSTN&. t identifies the functions to be performed by the signaling system network and a protocol to enable their performance t also explains the basic types of Signaling, SS( history, its protocol architecture, network elements, and different Signaling links associated with it. This pro"ect mainly emphasi-es on the hardware and software configuration between two SS( network elements and also the call processing using SS(, S.P messages. Practically, the call is established between two nodes and the S.P and S,/0 traffic traces are taken using 1023 or 4therial tracer and analy-ed for any call failures in the network. $onclusion can be drawn for failure calls due to various network issues 5 failures due to Technical problems, or non availability of 6esources or $ongestion in the Network etc. There will be in depth analysis SS( Protocol messages for all the layers 5 Physical layer to %pplication layer.
