The Tanzanian Ministry of Labour and Employment is inviting participants to attend an Industrial First Aid Training Course from April 9-11, 2014 at the VETA Mwanza training venue. The objective of the 3-day course is to equip nominated workplace first aiders and others with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to deal with health emergencies at work. INVITATION TO ATTEND INDUSTRIAL FIRST AID TRAINING COURSE Rationale for the training Whenever people work and whatever they do they need to be safe. Caring for safety involves prevention as well as being prepared for emergencies such as sudden illness and accidents. First aid training is a tool to enable workers to help their fellow employees in an emergence situation at work, in public places, at home, in the street, etc. Target Group: Nominated workplace first aiders, or anyone in need of a comprehensive introduction to first aid. Course Objective: The course objective is to equip the participants with knowledge, practical skills and confidence to deal with a health emergency at the workplace.

Course Contents: The First aid provision Sect 58(1-4) Accidents and incidents Medical emergencies (epilepsy, stroke asthmatic & diabetic shock) Contents/uses of a first aid kit Treatment of an unconscious casualty (CPR) Foreign bodies &Eye injuries Poisoning/ allergic reaction Burns and scalds

Course duration: The course is usually offered as three (3) consecutive days from 9 th April to 11st April, 2014.Venue will be VETA Mwanza. Training Methodology: Instructional lectures, plenary sessions, Practical demonstrations Course fee: Tsh 250,000/= per participants
