Electrical &electronics Measurement: 1 Internal Examination 4 Semester

The document is an examination for an Electrical and Electronics Measurement course. It contains 8 questions across two sections. Section A contains 5 short answer questions asking about terms like sensitivity, reproducibility, repeatability, and gross errors. It also asks about the resolution of a moving coil voltmeter. Section B contains 3 longer answer questions, the first about deriving and solving equations for Wheatstone bridge circuits, the second about deriving the balanced condition for a Maxwell inductance-capacitance bridge, and the third performing statistical calculations on a set of independent current measurements.

1stINTERNAL EXAMINATION 4th SEMESTER

ELECTRICAL &ELECTRONICS MEASUREMENT

Branch:-E.E.E,E.C.E
Full Marks: 30 TIME: 1 HR

Answer all the questions in this section A and any two out of the three questions in section B. SECTION A Marks: 5 * 2

Explain briefly the term Sensitivity. Differentiate between the term Reproducibility and Repeatibility. What is Gross Error ?How can be these avoided. A Moving Coil Voltmeter has a uniform scale with 100 divisions, the full scale reading is 200V and 1/10 of the scale division can be estimated with a fair degree of certainity.Determine the Resolution of the instrument in volt. 5. What is the basic difference between Wheatsone Bridge and Kelvin Double Bridge. 1. 2. 3. 4.
SECTION B Marks: 2 *10

6.

(a) What

is Wheatstone Bridge? Derive the balanced equation of Wheatstone

Bridge. (b) In the Wheatsone Bridge ,the values of Resistances of various arms are P=1000,Q=100,R=2005,S=200.The battery has an Emf of 5V and negligible internal resitance. The Galvanometer has a Current Sensitivity of 10mm/A and an Internal Resitance of 100.Calculate the Deflection of Galvanometer and the Sensitivity of the bridge in terms of Deflection per unit change in resistance. [10] 7. Derive the balanced condition for Maxwell Inductance-Capacitance bridge? Write down its Advantages and Dis-advantages.[10]

8. A set of independent Current measurement was taken by six observers and recorded as 12.8mA,12.2mA,12.5mA,13.1mA,12.9mAand 12.4mA.Calculate a)The arithmetic mean. b)The Deviations from the Mean. c)The Average Deviation. d)The Standard Deviation. e) Variance [10]
