N. Sarkhej-1: GSPC: Cb-Onn-2000/1. Report No. 8744/iid

Seismic line Q255-06 shows a chaotic feature above the basal Miocene sand pick that cuts adjacent reflectors. Upon closer examination, the feature consists of a basal section showing evidence of scour incision and possible channelization overlain by an upper section displaying evidence of mounding and aggradational fill. A nearby well provides details of a fining-upward package overlain by a blocky sheet sand at the same stratigraphic horizon, indicating the seismic feature likely represents a significant geological structure. While not associated with high amplitudes, the apparent channelization and presence of sands in the nearby well within an otherwise mud-dominated package provides potential for stratigraphic trapping in reservoir units at this level.

Line Q255-06 (NNW SSE)

Lead Intra !ara"ur, northern 3D survey area The above seismic line shows a feature above the basal Miocene sand pick (shown in orange) where the seismic reflectors are chaotic (see enlargement). This feature cuts adjacent reflectors. On closer examination the feature is composed of two sections! a basal section which shows evidence of scour incision and possible channelising and an upper section which shows evidence of mounding and aggradational fill. "vidence from an adjacent well (#. $arkhej%&) shows details of a fining%upward package ('channel fill) overlain b( a block( sheet sand ('aggradational feature) at the same stratigraphic hori)on. *iven these relationships it is considered likel( that the seismic character is reflecting a significant geological feauture. +lthough the feature above is not apparentl( associated with an( high amplitudes the apparent channelisation and presence of sands in $arkej%& allied to an occurrence within an otherwise mud%dominated package provides some potential for stratigraphic trapping in reservoir units at this level.
