CHANNEL FEATURE
Section 1 Section 2
Prospect: Intra Cambay hale andbody Below the Top Dholka Pay surface, in southern parts of the southern 3D survey area, a distinctive channel feature is evident and is associated with high amplitude events The !hannel has a north"south orientation and is clearly imaged on the #"$ cross line to the left, with a width of %&km and a thickness in the order of &''ms The (ase of the channel feature has (een picked over most of the southern survey area and, together with the top Dholka Pay surface, allows an appro)imate isopach *T#T+ to (e generated *a(ove left+ This shows a narrow feature in the south, (roadening out and thinning to the north ,mplitudes e)tracted from the (ase channel surface itself also clearly defined the -". orientation of the main channel (ut shows a series of splayed high amplitude events to the north , south to north section through the channel a)is illustrates well"defined north dipping reflectors within the unit /ntra" channel truncations and local onlap and offlap relationships can also (e defined These relationships indicate a comple) fill to the feature and are suggestive of northward progradation The channel is considered unlikely to represent a single fluvial channel unit (ut has a more comple) origin
%&0'1"&021m in 3auka" & The interval contains several grey to dirty white siltstones and from .P and resistivity profiles has a lower package with a possi(le coarsening"cleaning upwards character -ote that 3auka"& lies to the north of the main amplitude anomaly and may occupy a distal location
4lattening on the Top Dholka Pay reflector further accentuates the north"dipping character of the internal reflectors within the channel unit and the overall thicknening of this package to the north ,mplitude e)tractions at several levels within the unit were e)amined and a preferred model constructed /n this model the main channel in the south is envisaged as an incised feeder system that passes distally into a minor delta consisting of several discrete mouth(ar lo(es 5igher in the unit the availa(le accommodation space was filled and the channel and mouth(ar system is replaced (y a meander (elt in which individual channel elements have a high sinuosity *4igure ))+
