This project proposes installing whiteboards in classrooms at Western Mindanao State University to improve teaching and learning. Project Title: The Whiteboard Project Project Description:

This project is non-electronic variation of the traditional "rewriteable" schoolroom blackboard, but is white instead of black and of a material that can be written on with colored markers (known as dry erase markers). Dry erase markers are easier to erase than the chalk used on a blackboard (which sometimes requires a wet rag for thorough erasing). White boards entered the campus scene around the 80s. They are dust-free, powder-free, and more sanitary. Also, since they require the use of modern inked markers, users do not have to worry about getting their hands grubby anymore. A white board can be used to jot down lectures, plot graphs, make diagrams, sketch drawings, etc. With the use of multi-colored markers, presentations and lectures can be enhanced and made more attractive and attention-grabbing. And the thought that the annoying, ear-splitting sound sometimes emitted by chalks on blackboards can be completely erased from memory, further makes white boards a favorite on campus. White boards can be quite versatile. Aside from the obvious purpose for writing and illustrating presentations and lectures, a white board can also be used to view slides emanated through a projector. The smooth and shiny surface allows for quality viewing. White boards can also serve as bulletin boards when the need arises. Also, the framed and wheeled white boards can be employed as barriers and dividers when necessary. They can also be tagged along everywhere on campus, making them essential aids for on-the-go teachers.

Project Goal:
To improve the facility for learning and effective teachings of teachers for all the students of Western Mindanao State University by putting whiteboards on each classroom.

Project Purpose:
To eliminate messy chalk dust. To allow learners to absorb information more easily. To make it easy for teachers to enhance presentation content by easily integrating all kinds of material in a lesson: a picture from the internet, a graph from a spreadsheet and text from a Word file in addition to student and teacher annotations on these objects.
