Class Description: 1P is a parallel class of 23 children with a wide range of abilities. The class comprises of 11 girls and 12 boys. Star cards may also be awarded for positi#e beha#iours by other teachers in the classroom or playground. The Traffic *ight beha#iour management system is used in the classroom for students who ha#e difficulty recalling rules or expectations of beha#iour. & student who displays a negati#e beha#iour is gi#en a 7friendly warning8 and the opportunity to ta-e responsibility to modify their beha#iour. 1f the student persists with the negati#e beha#iour after three #erbal warnings2 they are as-ed to place their name peg on the green traffic light. )ontinued unacceptable beha#iour2 the student mo#es their peg on to the orange traffic light and they are remo#ed from the group. & mo#e to the red traffic light means the student is sent to the Stage 9ne Super#isor2 %ellie ,ouglas in 2,. &t any stage when a student displays consistent positi#e beha#iour2 they may remo#e their peg from the Traffic *ights.

Circle ime )ircle time in the classroom is planned for straight after lunch e#ery day in Term 1. &s the year progresses this will be reduced to twice a wee-. )ircle Time aims to: )reate a set time and space during the day in which students can share their ideas6opinions and build up a sense of class community. 3elp promote better relationships and positi#e beha#iour &llows for discussion2 reflection2 emotional understanding ,e#elops students spea-ing and listening s-ills

Sharing Classroom "esponsi#ilities: 1t is important for students to ha#e responsibilities in the classroom and to share in the daily routines and organisation of their classroom. Such responsibilities help students to de#elop a sense of belonging to a group2 independence and wor-ing cooperati#ely. &ll students are assigned a class 4ob and 4obs are rotated twice a term. &ll class 4obs that in#ol#e mo#ement through the school are done in pairs. The homewor- program is a grid format and is a whole grade program.

Pic& 'p Point (rrangements Students are collected in the morning from the sil#er bench near the forest play area in the south playground. L!nch and "ecess (rrangements +eather permitting2 at the 11.2?am bell2 the class go outside to eat and sit on the sil#er seats bench near the forest in the south playground. Students are to remain seated while eating until the next bell goes at 11.3?pm. &fter lunch and recess students are collected from the same bench in the south playground. (fternoon Collection (rrangements Students are dismissed to their parents or assigned carers from the wooden benches in the south playground. Students must wait on the bench until they ha#e been collected. 'o student may meet their parents or older sibling at another part of the playground unless a permission note has been signed. &fter school collection arrangements for students in 1P is included and displayed in classroom. Students attending )amp &ustralia at the hall must be wal-ed o#er as a group with the teacher and be signed in by )amp &ustralia staff. &ny students not collected by 3.3?pm should be escorted to the front office.
