Project Name: Consolidated Global Sourcing Data Warehouse Client: GE Energy Sep 09 to till date Role: ETL Developer Project Description: Consolidated Global Sourcing & Business Intelligence, as a project, offer endto-end BI solution carrying the broad objective to Consolidate, standardize and provide Enterprise-wide view of whole sourcing information and is mainly developed with Sourcing as a subject. Sourcing comprises of requisitions, request for quotes, purchase order execution, receipts and delivery where we will track the Requisition, Shipment, Receipt and Delivery of all the POs in GE Energy Business. It fulfills the broad objective to consolidate, standardize and provide enterprise-wide view of whole sourcing information. GSDW is having Relational, Flat Files and Mainframes as Source Systems. The ETL has been developed by Informatica tool As a team member, was responsible for Worked on Power Center client tools like Source Analyzer, Warehouse Designer, Mapping Designer, Mapplet Designer and Transformations Developer. Used most of the transformations such as the Source Qualifier, Expression, Aggregator, Connected & Unconnected lookups, Filter, Router, Sequence Generator, Sorter, Joiner, and Update Strategy for developing mappings involving complex business logics. Used Workflow manager for Workflow and Session Management, database connection management and Scheduling of jobs to be run in the batch process. Developed shell scripts, PL/SQL procedures for creating/dropping of table and indexes of performance for pre and post session management. Project Description: The project envisions implementation of a Data Warehouse for the Manufacturing Cycle of CISCO that includes the following tracks: Demand, Forecast, Quotes, Cost, Bill of materials (BOM), Consumption and Products & suppliers. The scope of this project is to load History and Incremental datas for all the above said tracks in manufacturing. The source data being Oracle is transformed and is loaded in Teradata staging and from which all the business logics are calculated and stored in tables. Then all the datas are loaded into its corresponding target tables. As a team member, was responsible for Analyzing of business requirement document and preparing Source to Target mapping Design document. Developing Informatica mappings to implement business logic by using various transformations like source qualifier, expression, filter, lookup, update strategy transformations, router transformation etc. Implementing error handling technique to fulfill all the business validations. Consolidated all the sessions in workflow based on the business loading strategy by using various tasks like decision task, email task in workflow manager. Creating mapping parameter and session parameters. Designing Technical specification document for all the developed mappings. Involving in Unit Testing and System Testing and preparing Unit Test Plan (UTP) and System Test Plan (STP) documents. Updating clients on weekly basis about issues and proposed solutions for respective data marts. Creating and maintaining SEI-CMM checklist for quality management.
