Text 1 navadvpe ka puraa-rucira bhva-valita mdagdyair yantrai svajana-sahita krtana-param sadopsya sarvai kali-mala-hara bhakta-sukha-da bhajmas ta nitya ravaa-manandyrcana-vidhau navadvpe-in Navadvpa; kam-Ka; puraa-as gold; ruciram-splendid; bhva-valitamovercome with ecstatic love; mdaga-dyair-beginning with mdagas; yantrai-with musical instruments; svajana-sahitam-with His associates; krtana-param-engaged in krtana; sadeternally; upsyam-to be worshiped; sarvai-by all; kali-of Kali-yuga; mala-the impurities; haram-removing; bhakta-to the devotees; sukha-happiness; dam-giving; bhajmas-we worship; tam-Him; nityam-eternally; ravaa-hearing; manana-and meditating; dya-beginning with; rcana-vidhau-in the process of worship. By hearing of Him, meditating on Him, and performing many other activities, let us worship Lord Ka who, His complexion now splendid as gold, overcome with ecstatic love, intently engaged in krtana, surrounded by His associates playing mdagas and other musical instruments, worshiped by all, removing the contamination of Kali-yuga, and giving happiness to the devotees, has now appeared in Navadvpa. I offer my respectful obeisances to Navadvpa, the blissful spiritual abode the Chndogya Upaniad says is a spiritual city, the Smti-sstra says is the abode of Lord Viu, others say is vetadvpa, a devotee expert at tasting transcendental nectar is the forest of Vraja.

When, as I wander in Navadvpa's forests, will I fall uncosnscious as I suddenly see wonderful, youthful Lord Gaura jubilantly dancing with His associates? May scriptures where the very wonderful glory of Lord Gaurga's city is not heard never enter my ears. May wretched people who do not become joyful when Mypura's glory enters their ears never come to speak to me or even enter the path of my eyes. iha-here; nn-with various; sdhana-of spiritual practicies; ysa-of the endeavors; dukhairwith the sufferings; bhavatu-become; bhavatu-become; ca-and; antardvpam-of Antardvpa; ritya-having taken shelter; dhany-fortunate. Enough! Enough with the happiness of staying among women she-asses! Enough! Enough with wealth, children, scholarship, and fame! Enough! Enough with the troubles of many kinds of spiritual practice! Take shelter of Antardvpa and become fortunate! Text 6 bhmir yatra su-komal bahu-vidha-pradyoti-ratna-ccha nn-citra-manohara khaga-mgdy-carya-rgnvitam vall-bhruha-jtayo 'dbhutatam yatra prasndibhis tan me gaura-kiora-keli-bhavana mypura jvanam bhmir-the ground; yatra-where; su-very; komal-soft; bahu-many; vidha-kinds; pradyotisplendid; ratna-jewels; cha-splendor; nn-various; citra-wonderful; manohara-charming; khaga-birds; mga-animals; dy-beginning with; carya-wonderful; rga-love; anvitam-with; vall-vines; bhruha-jtayo-trees; adbhutatam-very wonderful; yatra-where; prasna-flowers; dibhis-beginning with; tat-this; me-of me; gaura-of Lord Gaura; kiora-youthful; keli-of pastimes; bhavana-the home; mypura-Mypura; jvanam-life and soul. The home of Lord Gaura's youthful pastimes, r Mypura, where the ground is soft, there is a great splendor of many jewels, there are wonderful sounds of many birds and animals, and there are wonderful trees and vines with many flowers, is my life and soul. Text 7 (Godrumadvpa) milantu cintmai-koi-koaya svaya bahir dim upaitu v hari tathpi tad godruma-dhli-dhsara na deham anyatra kadpi ytu me milantu-may meet together; cintmai-of cintmai jewels; koi-millions; koaya-of millions; svaya-personally; bahir-externally; dim-vision; upaitu-may attain; v-or; hari-Lord Hari; tathpi-nevertheless; tad-this; godruma-of Godruma; dhli-with the dust; dhsara-darkened; na-not; deham-body; anyatra-in another place; kadpi-ever; ytu-will go; me-my. Millions on millions of cintmai jewels may meet together in some other place. Lord Hari may personally appear in some other place before everyone's eyes. Still, my body darkened with Godruma's dust will never go to any other place.

Text 8 (Madhyadvpa) kpayatu mayi madhyadvpa-ll vicitr kpayatu mayi mhe brahma-kudi-trtham phalatu tad-anukamp kalpa-vall tathaiva viharati jana-bandhur yatra madhyhna-kle kpayatu-may be merciful; mayi-to me; madhyadvpa-in Madhyadvpa; ll-pastimes; vicitrwonderful; kpayatu-may be kind; mayi-to me; mhe-foolish; brahma-kua-di-trtham-the holy places beginning with Brahma-kua; phalatu-may become fruitful; tad-anukamp-His mercy; kalpa-vall-kalpa-valli vines; tath-so; eva-indeed; eva-indeed; viharati-enjoys pastimes; jana-bandhur-the friend of all living entities; yatra-where; madhyhna-kle-at midday. May the Lord's wonderful pastimes in Madhyadvpa be kind to me. May Brahma-kua and the other sacred places there be kind to me, a fool. May the kalpa-valli vine of the kindness of He who is everyone's friend and who plays in Madhyadvpa at midday, bear its fruits. Text 9 (Koladvpa) jayati jayati koladvpa-kntra-rj surasarid-upakahe deva-deva-praamy khaga-mga-taru-vall-kuja-vp-tagasthala-giri-hradinnm adbhutai saubhagdyai jayati-all glories; jayati-all glories; koladvpa-of Koladvpa; kntra-rj-to the forests; surasarid-the Ganges; upakahe-near; deva-deva-by the leaders of the demigods; praamyoffered respectful obeisances; khaga-birds; mga-beasts; taru-trees; vall-vines; kuja-forest groves; vp-ponds; taga-lakes; sthala-land; giri-hills; hradinnm-and rivers; adbhutai-with wonderful; saubhaga-adyai-opulences. All glories, all glories to Koladvpa's forests, which stand by the Ganges' shore, which are worshiped by the leaders of the demigods and which are filled with the wonderful opulences of many birds, beasts, trees, vines, groves, lakes, ponds, open land, hills, and flowing streams! O feet, please walk in Rudradvpa! O eyes, please gaze at Modadrumadvpa's beauty! O tongue, please chant what the ears have heard of the glories of Lord Gaura's sacred places! O tongue, please smell the sweet fragrance of Lord Gaura's forest! O limbs, your hairs erect in ecstatic joy, please roll on the ground in the places of Lord Gaura's transcendental pastimes! Text 11 iha bhrma bhrma jagati na hi gandho 'pi kalito yadyas tatraivkhila-nigama-durlakya-saraau navadvpraye bata mahima-pya-jaladhau mahcaryonmlan-madhurimai citta lagatu me iha-here; bhrma-wandering; bhrma-and wandering; jagati-in the world; na-not; hiindeed; gandho-at the slightest scent; api-even; kalito-is perceived; yadyas-of which; tatrathere; eva-indeed; akhila-all; nigama-by the Vedas; durlakya-invisible; saraau-on the pathway; navadvpa-of Navadvpa; arayein-the forest; bata-indeed; mahima-of glory; pyuaof the nectar; jaladhau-in the ocean; mah-very; carya-wonderful; unmlan-rising; madhurimai-in the sweetness; citta-heart; lagatu-may cling; me-of me. May my heart cling to the wonderfully sweet ocean of nectar in Navadvpa forest, the path to which the Vedas together cannot find, and the slightest scent of which cannot be found even by wandering again and again through the length and breath of the universe. Text 12 mahojjvala-rasonmada-praaya-sindhu-nisyandin mah-madhura-rdhikramaa-khelannandin rasena samadhihit bhuvana-vandhyay rdhay cakstu hdi me hare parama-dhma gauav mah-great; ujjvala-splendor; rasa-nectar; unmada-intoxicated; praaya-of love; sindhu-ocean; nisyandin-flowing; mah-very; madhura-sweet; rdhik-of; ramaa-of the lover; khelanapastimes; nandin-joy; rasena-with nectar; samadhihit-established; bhuvana-by the worlds; vandhyay-worshiped; rdhay-by; cakstu-may shine; hdi-in the heart; me-my; hare-of

Lord Hari; parama-transcendental; dhma-abode; gaua-of Gaua; av-the forest. May the Gaua forest, which is Lord Hari's supreme abode, which is filled with surging currents from the ocean of splendid and passionate transcendental love, which is filled with the bliss of Lord Rdhikramaa's sweet pastimes, and which was sweetly founded by r Rdh, who is worshiped by all the worlds, shine in my heart. Text 13 (Jahnudvpa) janmani janmani jahnvrama-bhuvi vndrakendra-vandyym api ta-gulmaka-bhve bhavatu mam samullsam janmani janmani-birth after birth; jahnvrama-in Jahnudvpa; bhuvi-in the land; vndraka-of the demigods; indra-by the king; vandyym-worshiped; api-even; ta-gulmaka-as a clump of grass; bhve-in the condition; bhavatu-may be; mama-my; -desire; samullsam-joy. I pray that birth after birth I may be a clump of grass in the land of Jahnudvpa, which is worshiped even by the king of the demigods. That would be my joy. Text 14 (Smantadvpa) rdh-vallabha-pda-pallava-ju sad-dharma-ntyu nitya sevita-vaiavghri-rajas vairgya-sma-spm hantaiknta-rasa-pravia-manasm apy asti yad dratas tad rdh-karuvalokam acird vindantu smantake rdh-of Rdh; vallabha-of the beloved; pda-feet; pallava-flower; ju-devoted; satdharma-tranbscendental religious principles; nta-spent; yu-whose lives; nityaeternally; sevita-served; vaiava-of the Vaiavas; aghri-of the feet; rajas-the dust; vairgya-of renunciation; sma-the apex; spm-touching; hanta-indeed; eknta-singlepointed; rasa-nectar; pravia-entered; manasm-whose hearts; api-even; asti-is; yad-what; dratas-from far away; tad-that; rdh-of r Rdh; karu-of mercy; avalokam-glance; acird-at once; vindantu-find; smantake-in Smantadvpa. They who are ardently devoted to the flower-petal feet of r Rdh's beloved, whose entire lives are spent in carefully following transcendental religious principles, who always serve the dust of the Vaiavs' feet, who touch the highest point of renunciation, and whose hearts are plunged in the nectar of divine love, find very far away r Rdh's merciful glance, which is very quickly and easily found at Smantadvpa.

Text 15 viuddhdvaitaika-praaya-rasa-pya-jaladau ac-snor dvpe samudayati vndvanam aho mitha premodghrad rasika-mithunkram ania tad evdhysna praviati pade kvpi madhure viuddha-pure; advaita-eka-unalloyed; praaya-love; rasa-sweet; pya-of nectar; jaladau-in the ocean; ac-sno-of Lord Caitanya; dvpe-on the island; samudayati-rise; vndvana-of Vndvana; maho-splendor; mitha-mutual; prema-with love; udghrd-tossed; rasika-expert at enjoying nectar; mithuna-couple; kram-pastimes; ania-day and night; tad-that; evaindeed; adhysnam-seated; praviati-enters; pade-in the status; kva api-somewhere; madhuresweet. In the sweet nectar ocean of pure, undivided love, on an island of the Lord who is ac's son, Vndvana is manifest. There, tossed by pure love for each other, the sweet divine couple enjoys transcendental pastimes day and night. One who stays there enters a condition of life that is full of of nectar. Text 16 nha vedmi katha nu mdhava-padmbhoja-dvay dyyate k v r-uka-nraddya-kalite mrge 'sti me yogyat tasmd bhadram abhadram eva yadi nmst mamaika para rdh-keli-nikuja-majulatara r-godrumo jvanam na-not; aha-I; vedmi-know; katha-whether?; nu-indeed; mdhava-of Mdhava; pada-feet; ambhoja-lotus; dvay-two; dyyati-meditates; k-what?; v-or; r-uka-r ukadeva Gosvm; nrada-r Nrada Muni; dya-beginning with; kalite-seen; mrge-on the path; astiis; me-for me; yogyat-suitablness; tasmd-therefore; bhadram-auspiciousness; abhadraminauspiciousness; eva-indeed; yadi-if; nma-indeed; st-may be; mama-my; eka-sole; para-great; rdh-of Rdh; keli-pastimes; nikuja-forest groves; majulatara-most beautiful; r-godruma-Godruma; jvanam-life. I do not know whether I shall be able to meditate on Lord Mdhava's two lotus feet. Am I qualified to follow the path of r ukadeva Gosvm, r Nrada Muni, and the other great saints? Still, whether I meet good or ill, the beautiful forest of Godruma, where rmat Rdh enjoys transcendental pastimes, is my life and soul. Text 17 yat-smnam api spen na nigamo drt para lakyate kicid ghatay yad eva paramnandotsavaikvadhi yan mdhurya-kao 'py avedi na iva-svyambhuvdyair aha tac chrman-nava-khaa-dhma-rasada vindmi rdh-pate

yat-of which; smnam-the boundary; api-even; spet-may touch; na-not; nigamo-the Vedas; drt-from far away; para-great; lakyate-is percieved; kim-whether?; cit-spiritual; ghatay-secretly; yad-which; eva-indeed; parama-supreme; nanda-bliss; utsava-festival; eka-sole; avadhi-limit; yat-which; mdhurya-of the sweetness; kao-a drop; api-even; avediknow; na-not; iva-iva; svyambhuva-Brahm; dyair-beginning with; aha-I; tad-that; rmat-nava-khaa- r Navadvpa; dhma-abode; rasada-sweet; vindmi-I find; rdh-of Rdh; pate-of the Lord. Will I attain Lord Rdhpati's sweet abode named Navadvpa? Its boundary the Vedas cannot touch. It is a secret festival of the greatest transcendental bliss. iva, Brahm, and the other demigods do not know even a single drop of its nectar. Text 18 chidyeta khaaa ida yadi me arra ghora-vipad-vitatayo yadi v patanti h hanta hanta na tathpi kadpi bhyd r-godrumd itara-tuccha-pade pips chidyeta-may be cut; khada-into pieces; ida-this; yadi-if; me-my; arra-body; ghorahorrible; vipad-calamities; vitatayo-multitudes; yadi-if; v-or; patanti-fall; h-Oh; hanta-Oh; hanta-Oh; na-not; tathpi-nevertheless; kadpi-sometime; bhyd-may be; r-godrumt-from r Godruma; itara-other; tuccha-insignificant; pade-for a place; pips-thirst. If my body is torn to pieces, or if hosts of terrible calamities fall on me, Oh! Oh! Oh! Still I will never thirst to a leave r Godruma and go to those other, insignificant places. Text 19 svaya patita-patrakny amtavat kudh bhakayan t tridivavandin uci-payo-'jalbhi piban kad madhura-rdhikramaa-rsa-keli-sthal vilokya rasa-magna-dhr adhivasni gauravm svaya-spontaneously; patita-fallen; patrakni-leaves; amtavat-like nectar; kudh-hungrily; bhakayan-eating; t-thirst; tridivavandin-of the Ganges; uci-pure; payo-of water; ajalbhi-with handsful; piban-drinking; kad-when?; madhura-sweet; rdhikramaa-of Lord Ka, the lover of r Rdh; rsa-of the rsa-dance; keli-of the pastime; sthal-the place; vilokya-seeing; rasa-into nectar; magna-plunged; dhr-heart; adhivasni-I will reside; gauravm-in Lord Gaura's forest. When, hungrily eating naturally fallen leaves as if they were ambrosia, thirstily drinking handsfull of the Ganges' pure water, and my heart plunged in nectar as I gaze at the place where sweet Lord Rdhikramaa enjoyed the pastime of the rsa dance, will I reside in Lord Gaura's forest?

Text 20 tenkri samasta eva bhagavad-dharmo 'pi tendbhuta sarvasmt pururthato 'pi parama kacit kara-sth-kta tendhyi samasta-mrdhani pada brahmdayas ta namanty -dehntam adhri yena vasatau khae nave nicayam tena-by Him; kri-done; samasta-all; eva-indeed; bhagavad-dharmo-religion; api-also; tenaby him; adbhuta-wonderful; sarvasmt-than all; purua-arthato-goals of life; api-even; parama-greater; kacit-something; kara-in the hand; sth-kta-standing; tena-by him; dhyi-placed; samasta-of all; mrdhani-on the head; pada-the foot; brahma-dayas-they who are headed by Brahm; ta-him; namanti-offer obeisances; -undtil; deha-of the body; antam-the end; adhri-held; yena-by whom; vasatau-in the residence; vndvane-in Vndvana; nicayam-determination. One who is firmly determined to stay in Navadvpa until the end of his body, has already performed all kinds of devotional service. The greatest and most wonderful of all goals of life rests in his hand. His feet are on everyone's head. Brahm and the demigods bow down before him. Text 21 khaga-vnd pau-vnd druma-valli-vndam unmada-prema prayad amta-rasair navadvpkhya vana namata khaga-vnd-birds; pau-vnd-beasts; druma-valli-vndn-trees and vines; unmadaprema-with wild love; prayad-pleasing; amta-rasaih-with sweet nectar; navadvpaakhyam vanam-the forest of Navadvpa; namata-please offer respectful obeisances. Offer your respectful obeisances to the forest of Navadvpa which, by giving them the sweet nectar of wild spiritual love, delights its birds, beasts, trees, and vines. Text 22 bhaktyaikaynyatra ktrtha-mnino dhrs tad etan na vaya tu vidma r-rdhik-mdhavavallabha na sad navadvpa-vana tu saraya bhakty-by devotion; ekay-sole; anyatra-anywhere else; ktrtha-successful; mnino-proud; dhrs-saintly; tad etat-that; na-no; vaya-we; vidma-know; r-rdhik-mdhava-to r r Rdh-Ka; vallabha-dear; na-for us; sad-always; tu-indeed; navadvpavanam-the forest of Navadvpa; tu-indeed; saraya-shelter.

A devotee may be proud to become successful by practicing pure devotional service in some other place. We do not think he is successful. We shall always take shelter of Vndvana, which is very dear to r r Rdhik-Mdhava. Text 23 dokro 'ha gualea-hna sarvdhamo durlabha-vastu-kak gauravm ujjvalabhakti-sra-bja kad prpya bhavmi pra doa-of faults; kro- a mine; aha-I; gua-virtue; lea-of the slightest; hna-devoid; sarva-of all; adhamo-the lowest; durlabha-difficult to attain; vastu-thing; kak-desiring; gauravmLord Gaura's forest; ujjvala-splendid; bhakti-devotional service; sra-best; bjam-the seed; kad-when?; prpya-attaining; bhavmi-will become; pra-fulfilled. Now that I, who am a reservoir of faults, who have not the slightest virtue, and who am the lowest of all but who still hankers for what is very difficult to attain, have come to Lord Gaura's forest, the seed from which the most splendid devotional service grows, will I become successful? Text 24 uddhojjvala-prema-rasmtbdher ananta-prasya kim apy udram rdh-pradatta yad aprva-sra tad eva gaurga-vana gatir me uddha-pure; ujjvala-splendid; prema-of love; rasa-of sweet; amta-nectar; abdher-of the ocean; ananta-prasya-which has not farther shore; kim api-something; udram-noble; rdhRdh; abhidha-named; yatra-where; caksti-is splendidly manifest; sram-essence; tad-that; eva-indeed; gaurga-vanam-Lord Gaurga's forest; gatir-the goal; me-of me. Lord Gaurga's forest, where the name "Rdh", the sweetest part of shoreless nectar ocean of pure and splendid divine love, shines, is the only goal of my life. Text 25 sarva-sdhana-hno 'pi navadvpaika-saraya ya ko 'pi prpnyd eva rdh-priya-rasotsavam sarva-of all; sdhana-spiritual practices; hno-devoid; api-although; navadvpa-Navadvpa; eka-

only; saraya-shelter; ya-who; ka api-somene; prpnyd-may attain; eva-certainly; rdh-of Rdh; priya-of the beloved; rasa-of nectar; utsavam-the festival. One who never performs any spiritual activities, but who has wholeheartedly taken shelter of Navadvpa, will attain the great festival of the nectar of pure love for r Rdh's beloved. Text 26 tyajantu sva-jan kma deha-vtti ca mstu v na navadvpa-smta pada me calatu kvacit tyajantu-may abandon; sva-jan-my own people; kma-as they like; deha-for the body; vtti-activity; ca-and; m-not; astu-may be; v-or; na-not; navadvpa-Navadvpa; smta-from the border; pada-one step; me-of me; calatu-take; kvacit-anywhere. My own people may leave me. My body may collapse. Still, I will not take a single step beyond the border of Navadvpa. My heart finds its happiness in the transcendental abode of Navadvpa. If I live in Navadvpa, and my personal liberation does not weigh even as heavily as a fraction of an ounce to me, then why should I be interested in material piety, economic development, and sense gratification? If I live in Navadvpa and I have not the slightest fear of hell, then why should I be filled with anxiety over the well-being of my wife, children, friends, and relatives? If in your heart there is no faith, and if you think it is too difficult to attain, then please abandon all these misconceptions and take shelter of Lord Gaura's city.
