Purpose:
Thepurposeofthisexperimentwastofindthestaticandkineticcoefficientsoffrictionofa shoeorshoesonmanydifferentsurfaces.WelearnedhowtouseDualRangeForceSensorsto accomplishthattask.

ApparatusandProcedure:
Wefirstputaloopofducttapeonthefront,side,andbackofourwrestlingshoe.We pokedaholeineachlooptoconnecttheforcesensorto.Wepulledontheforcesensorinthree intervalstogetthebestdata.Withthedatawefound,weusedtheequationss=Fs,max/Fnand k=Fk/Fntofindthecoefficientsofstaticandkineticfrictiononseveralsurfaces.

high.Thismakessenseasifyoureawrestleryoudontwanttobeslippingallovertheplace,you wantyourshoestohavegoodgrip.Thereasonthewrestlingshoehasahighcoefficientoffriction isthetreadonthebottomoftheshoe.Itiscircularinpatternsoitgripsinanydirection.

Conclusion:Weconcludedthatthewrestlingshoeshaveaveryhighcoefficientoffriction.
Thetreadontheshoemakesthewrestlingshoehavesuchahighcoefficientoffriction,asthe treadiscircularwhichmakesitgripinanydirection.
