February 17, 2014 Due Date: February 24, 2014 Start of Class Note: Attempt all questions. All questions carry equal marks. Draw Bending Moment and Shear Force Diagrams of
Beams and Frame Elements. Evaluate Axial Force of All Trusses.

Problem # 1: Calculate shear force and moment variation of the following beam, with a support settlement of 1.25 in at C.

Problem # 3

Problem # 2: The support A of the following truss settles by 1 in, support C settled by 3 in and support D settles by 1.75 in. Calculate member forces.

Problem # 4: Determine the reactions and the force in each member of the truss of Problem # 3 if member EF is 30 mm too short. Problem # 5: Use three moment equation to evaluation reactions, shear force and bending moments in the following beam.
