Difference between film and digital images

O Grains ( tiny particles of silver

Digital
O Pixel ( tiny light sensitive cells ) O Light sensors ( each light cell can

have 1 colour filter-red, blue, green. Eg: the camera with 8M 8 million cells will only capture 1 colour at one instant, the rest of the colour of the surrounding is generated by the processor in the camera to give the colour )

Color Filter Array Sensor

At any one time, the sensor can only measure a colour.

Most of the time, the colour is green. In digital photography, only 30% of true colour.

Types Of Lenes
O Normal lens O Wide angle lens

O Telephoto Lens
O Teleconverter Lens O Distortion Lens Eg: fish eye

Normal Lens
O Also known as standard lens. O When the focal length of a lens is

close to the diagonal measurement of the film format, the lens is said to be normal lens. O Or we can say close to the magnification of the human eye. O Focal length: 18-55 mm

Optical Zoom
O Magnify distant object with lens. O When choosing a camera, look out for

optical zoom instead of digital zoom. O Digital zoom is simply magnifying part of the object on the image sensor. O In a nut shell, it means using computer to do enlargements.
