Download Corporate Data

Launch Bloomberg and Press GO

Enter your login details

Click on Home Menu

Click on 7) Equities

Click on 12) EQS Equity Screening

By default start off with all active shares Can narrow it down to a particular sector or country

Click on 32) Sectors

Drag and Drop Oil & Gas and Technology to right side

Click 1) Update

Click 33) Country of Domicile

Drag and Drop North America and Western Europe

Click on 1) Update

We have narrowed down our sample size

We can now select what information we want about each company

Type Size of the Board and select from list

Select Size of the Board and press Enter

Size of the Board is now added as a display variable

Type LT Debt to Total Capital and press Enter

Type Dividend Payout Ratio and press Enter

Type Tobins Q Ratio and press Enter

You can also add variables by clicking on 3) Fields

Key Variables
Some common variables can be found at: Corporate Governance Fundamentals -> Bloomberg Fundamentals -> ESG -> Governance

Dividends
Fundamentals -> Bloomberg Fundamentals -> Financial Ratios -> Dividend Capital Structure Fundamentals -> Bloomberg Fundamentals -> Financial Ratios -> Debt

Click Close

To keep results consistent you can choose a standard currency such as US Dollars

Click 99) Actions -> Change Currency

Change Currency to United States Dollar

Click 1) Update

To save your criteria click 99) Actions -> Save As

Choose a name to save as

Click 1) Update

When you have all the variables you want, click on 1) Results

Displays the variables for 3,000 observations

To output to Excel click 95) Output -> Excel -> Snapshot

Click Yes

Data is now in Excel
