A Note On Study On The Transfer Functions For Detecting Windings Displacement of Power Transformers With Impulse Method

This document discusses a study on using transfer function methods to detect displacement of windings in power transformers caused by high short-circuit currents. Power transformers are critical but expensive components of power systems, and their failures can be costly. The transfer function method is examined to identify the effects of winding displacement in transformers resulting from mechanical forces during high short-circuit currents.

A note on Study on the Transfer Functions for Detecting Windings Displacement of Power Transformers with Impulse Method

Transformer is one of the paramount devices in the utility grids. Though a static device, its reliable functioning is an outcome of electrical, mechanical, thermal and chemical subsystems. Power transformers are the most expensive and critical component of our power system. Its failure would be a costly event. In the power networks there are many power transformers, circuit breakers and various apparatuses. High short-circuit currents do damage to these power apparatuses. In the power transformers, these currents cause deformation and displacement of transformer windings due to mechanical forces .In order to study these effects we use transfer function method to identify the effect of displacement of winding.
