Median Square Footage of Housing (Since 1950) : Montgomery County, Maryland

This document shows the median square footage of different types of housing units in Montgomery County, Maryland by the year built, ranging from pre-1950 to 2000-2006. Single-family detached homes have generally increased in size over time, going from 891 square feet for those built from 1950-1959 to 1,792 square feet for those built from 2000-2006. Condominiums have also increased in size albeit at a smaller scale, ranging from 420 to 1,300 square feet depending on the year built.
