Vowel Teams ei ei ey ey ie ie ue ue
4 6 4 6 4 6 4 4 When a vowel team represents the long sound of the first vowel in the vowel team, the vowel team is classified as a vowel group four team. When a vowel team does not represent the long sound of the first vowel in the vowel team, then the vowel team is classified as a vowel group six team except when the letter r is part of the vowel team. When the vowel forms a team with the letter r, the vowel team is classified as a vowel group five team. To indicate that a letter is silent, put a wave sign under that letter: ha l f . (The letter l is silent in the word half.) ~ Lesson 517
