    components of the human environment 1) population The people occupying an area 2) Settlements Places where people live and carry out activities 3) Agriculture The growing of crops or rearing of animals 4) Transport and communication The movement of people or goods from one place to another using vehicles The exchange of information and ideas between people Extra info: Human environment consists of: 1) population - changes to the phy environment begins with the pop of ppl living there. - pop increase , more land converted into housing, farming and other land use. 2)settlement - as pop grows, ppl build more houses to live and settlement is formed. - may be a village, town or city. - in settlement, ppl engage in activities such as farming, mining and manufacturing. 3)agriculture - after people settle in a place, they may grow crops and rear animals for food and other reasons.These activities are termed agriculture.

    4)transport and communications -traveling from one place to another people use vehicles, such as cars and ships. -to maintain contact with one another, people develop ways of communication with each other, such as through newspapers or by using email or telephone. Hence, the human environment is the result of interactions between people and physical environment. We can also see that the components of the human environment are interrelated. People change the environment to their meet their needs. Agriculture is the growing of crops and rearing of animals. Communications refer to the exchange of info and ideas between people. An interaction refers to the process where two things affect each others development. Population refers to the people occupying an area. Settlements are places where people live and carry out activities. Transport is the movement of people or goods from one place to another using vehicles.
