Horizontal Alignment
1. Open Eagle Point. Repeat the instructions in step 3 provided in the first lab tutorial (getting started). Open the Eagle Point project that you created in the first lab. Click on the *.dwg file on the project list and then click on OK. Click on the OBJECT SNAP tab in the $RA!T"N& SETT"N&S dialog window. +nchecked the OBJECT SNAP ON button at the top left corner and click the OK button. 2f a check 'ark is visible it 'eans that the snaps selected in the underneath bo!es are still on.

3) Click on the drawing (or type in the coordinates) the locations where you want a "2 (point of intersection) in the align'ent. ?it the ENTER key when you are finished drawing the polyline. 9o to ROA$CA%C and click A%"&N/ENTS and CON.ERT OBJECTS TO A%"&N/ENT)
d. $elect the polyline you want to convert into align'ent by clicking on it and then hit ENTER key. e. $pecify the starting point of the align'ent by clicking a point near the beginning. f. Click the APP%' button. &he polyline should change to the color red indicating that ROA$CA%C converted to align'ent. ROA$CA%C creates a new layer in 7utoC7# na'ed CENTER%"NE for the new align'ent and deletes the original polyline you created. g. To 5oEe the location o; a P" follow one of the following two steps1) 9o to A%"&N/ENTS and E$"T $ATA. #ouble*click over the "2 you want to 'ove. ,ou can either type the new coordinates or click the blue 'oving crosshair icon at the upper right corner and click directly on the drawing the new location. To determine the coordinates of an! point in the dra ing go to TOOLS in the AutoCAD menu" clic# IN3UIR0 and then I POINT and clic# on an! point on the dra ing that !ou ant to #no its coordinates
)) Or click on the polyline click over the "2 (identified by a blue s@uare) that you want to 'ove and drag it to the new location and release the 'ouse button. Click on UP$ATE $ATA.

)) Click on the Northing space. ,ou can either type the coordinates for the new "2 or you can select the point directly on the drawing by clicking the blue 'oving crosshair icon at the upper right corner of the "n3ert P" window and clicking on the drawing where you want the new "2.

d. /irst select the design table fro' the pull*down 'enu. Re'e'ber you are using 'etric units. $econd select a design speed fro' the speed table at the left of the window. &hird select the curve design by selecting the radius or the degree of curvature (#a). /ourth click the CREATE CUR.E button.

e. $elect the "2(s) that you want to design using the selected design para'eters by clicking on the "2 nu'ber. ,ou can use the sa'e design for all the curves or you can apply different designs for each curve. &o use the sa'e design for all the curves of your align'ent select all the "2s fro' the list by clicking the SE%ECT A%% button. &o select 'ore than one "2 use the CONTRO% KE' on your keyboard. &hen click the OK button. Click 'ES to overwrite all the design data in ROA$CA%C and close the $peed &ables window.
