Argu!ent for (rade: The easiest way for you to synthesize your work over the se!ester is to put
together an ePortfolio )through *ee"ly# Yola# *e"s# etc+ and have the wor% la"eled.
These are some of the questions that you need to be ready to answer:
Pro ect 1: !iteracy Narrati"e
#hat did you disco"er about yourself as a $reader%writer&' I discovered a lot about myself during the literacy narrative project. Going back and trying to think about the different books Ive read that have impacted me, made me look at books different and how important they can be. (id you disco"er or remember thin)s about your *ast $reader%writer& self' During this assignment the only things I can recall were about my reading but not writing. I can remember a few of the first books that I read that im*acted me and were some of my fa"orites )rowin) u*+ ,t was hard to select a boo- for this *ro ect because a lot of boo-s ha"e had a s*ecial im*act on me+
/an you s*ecifically show me how this assi)nment has enhanced your use of technolo)y to create and write in multi*le )enres' I chose to do my book report in a different way then what was normal for the class. I chose to write mine as a character in the book and describe the plot and the other characters. I also linked several pictures to represent important points in the book that I thought were important. 0ow about your research s-ills and a"oidin) *la)iarism'
The only source I needed to use was the book itself, so I did not encounter any issues with plagiarism. , cited the boo- in my e1 *ortfolio the correct way+ 0ow about your critical thin-in) s-ills' This assignment also helped me with my critical thinking skills as well. riting and e!plaining the book from a characters perspective was a little difficult, but at the same time fun. I had to put more time and effort into this assignment but I liked the result. #hat about reflectin) on your writin) and choices you made' I liked how the book report turned out, and how I chose to do it. "ost people chose to go with a more creative approach and use art, but I chose to do mine as a character in my book. , summari2ed the *lot and characters as Nic- /arraway+
#as this a difficult *iece to do and why or why not' #or me the tech genre project was not difficult. I used Ta!gedo and a "eme to represent my modes of tech genre and they both turned out well+ #hat did you disco"er about yourself and the no"el with this *ro ect' $efore this project I didnt really thing of myself as creative at all but after I was done making the two, I felt like I did a good job. I thought I used a good picture for my Ta!gedo that sums up the book, and a cle"er sayin) to )o with my meme+
#as this *ro ect easier or more difficult than the other *ro ects' #hy%#hy not' %ike the Tech Genre project, this project was easy for me as well. I chose to write to Daisy $uchanan in my book, and I thin- it turned out well+ ,f you really ha"e questions and en oyed readin) the boo- and what ha**ened it7 this assi)nment was not difficult+ To *re*are to answer your letter in the $character8s "oice& or the authors "oice7 did you ha"e to do any s*ecial research' #hat and how'
I didnt need to do any special research for the response to my letter. I wrote back as Daisy and basically answered any &uestions I wrote to her. , ust felt li-e her res*onse should be what , thin- and my o*inion of the questions , as-ed+
Think about these words' organi(ation, choice, evidence, proof, communication, evaluation, persuasion, developed, investigate, reviewed, re"ised7 desi)ned7 inte)rated7 demonstrated + + +
a+ #hich of the indi"idual claims you ma-e in the *ro ects are stron)est%wea-est' The strongest claim I made was that The Great Gatsby was the book that has impacted me the most, but in a different way. I couldnt relate to this book at all but it taught me several different lessons. I didnt feel like I made any weak claims throughout my projects. )ne e!ample could be throughout I couldnt find all the right words to show how The Great Gatsby impacted me. I got my point across, but I felt like I could of done a little better. b. ,s there a *iece that was more im*ortant for you and why' The most important piece for me was the Tech Genre project, I felt like I chose two types of genres that could represent my book well. c. ,s there a *iece that was more difficult for you and why' The most difficult piece for me was the !iteracy Narrati"e and choosin) a boo- that had im*acted me the most+ , don8t ha"e a dee* history of lo"in) literature7 but this was still a tou)h choice because , ha"e read a lot of awesome boo-s+ d+ ,f you thin- you ha"e learned to ma-e connections between te9ts or learned to a**ly ideas from te9ts into your life7 show me where+ )ne connection I took from The Great Gatsby was simply not to live in the past. This book taught me to move on from the simple things in life and not get caught up in one thing because of your pride.
e. Reflect on the *rocesses that you went throu)h with each ma or *iece+ "y process for each project didnt really change I just sat down, focused and wrote what came to my mind. The Tech Genre and $ook *eport project were not really difficult for me though. The only one I struggled with was the %iteracy +arrative and selectin) a boo- that had affected me )reatly+ f+ (id you disco"er anythin) new%interestin)%insi)htful' The only thing I discovered was that Im a little more creative than I give myself credit for. I felt like my Tech Genre was my best project even though I thought it would turn out the worst.
:our own *artici*ation and effort in the class a+ ;uch of this class rests on the assum*tion that you are self1 moti"ated to *artici*ate7 read7 as- questions7 hel* your classmates7 can <and willin)= to na"i)ate ;oodle and do what you need to do in order to succeed in the class+ 4lthou)h , ha"e my own "iew of who *artici*ates and who doesn>t7 , would li-e your in*ut here about yourself+ I feel like I have earned an , in this class in a few different ways. The first reason is all of my drafts, assignments and journals were turned in on time. ,lso my e-portfolio is very organi(ed and easy to navigate through. Ive spent a lot of time on it, and I am happy with the results. I have cited my book carefully and have not plagiari(ed as well. I have revised each of my assignments and there are little to no grammatical errors that I could find. "y theses are very easy to find and are clear and precise. In conclusion I feel like I have earned an , in this class, and have done everything I could to succeed. b+ :ou re)istered for the class ? did you do all you could to succeed' In my opinion I did everything I could to succeed in this class.
