Pareto Diagram Exercise

The General Manager of Quality at Proton Berhad wanted to reduce rework of paint defects on cars. Data was collected on the type and frequency of paint defects, including scratches, chips, uneven surface, rough surface, and others. To identify the major defects requiring improvement, a Pareto diagram was to be created by listing the defects from highest to lowest frequency, calculating totals and cumulative values, and plotting the results on a bar chart with a cumulative percentage line to identify the most common 20% of issues.
