North is at the top of your page Draw a line that points to the north Put on your protractor Mark a point at 380 Take off the protractor Join up to your point Make the line 4 cm long A bearing of 4 km at 0380

Scale 1 cm = 1 km

Bearings can be used to describe journeys. Here is an example

A ship needs to go from the north east tip of the Northern territories to the south east point of Tasmania. To do this it sails on these bearings:
700 km at 060 2000 km at 1600
0600 1600

800 km at 2300
