This circular from the Director of the Centre for Research at Anna University Chennai announces that PhD research scholars who have completed or will complete the maximum period of 6 years for their program by June 2009 must submit a request for a 6 month extension by May 31, 2009. The request requires recommendation from the scholar's Doctoral Committee, including the supervisor's department head. Scholars who do not apply will not be permitted to pay fees in July 2009 and will have their registration cancelled.

CIRCULAR

Ph.D. Research scholars completed/to be completed the maximum period of


6 years as of June 2009 have to send their request to the office of Centre for
Research, Anna University Chennai, for an extension of six months upto December
2009, with the recommendation of the Doctoral Committee on or before 31.5.2009.
The minutes of the Doctoral Committee should specifically recommend for
extension and duly signed by all members including the HOD of the supervisor. If
the research scholar fails to apply for the extension, he/she will not be permitted to
pay the fees for July 2009 Session and his/her registration shall be cancelled and the
name will be removed from the rolls.
