1) Celebrating birthdays is an innovation from Western culture that is not part of Islamic tradition, as the Prophet Muhammad's birthday was not celebrated. 2) A Muslim should not say "Happy Birthday" to others and should make it clear that birthdays are not allowed in Islam. 3) Celebrating the Prophet Muhammad's birthday (Meelad un Nabi) is an innovation that is not proven by the Quran or hadith. The Prophet's companions did not celebrate his birthday. It was invented by Christians centuries later and Muslims should not celebrate religious figures' birthdays.
