Blur The Background of A Image

To create a lens blur effect on a subject: 1. Duplicate the background layer and select the subject using the Quick Selection Tool. 2. Inverse the selection and fill it with white in a new alpha channel. 3. Apply the Lens Blur filter to the layer, using the alpha channel as a depth map and adjusting the radius, brightness, noise, and monochromatic settings. 4. Flatten the image layers.

STEP BY STEP: 1. Duplicate Layer (Ctrl J for WINDOWS or CMD J for MAC) 2.

Select the SUBJECT by using Quick Selection Tool (press W) 3. then press "shift ctrl I" for WINDOWS or "shift cmd I" for MAC or go to SELEC T>INVERSE to Inverse Selection 4. go to CHANNELS panel, create NEW CHANNEL "ALPHA 1" Note: Make sure that your foreground layer is WHITE, if not press "D" to DEFAULT the foreground layer color (white/black) 5. default the brush foreground layer (foreground layer should be "WHITE") 7. then Hold "Alt" and press "backspace", to fill the selected area with white 8. click the "RGB" in Channels panel to go back in normal mode then click the la yer 1 9. go to FILTER>BLUR> "LENS BLUR" 11. Depth Map SOURCE: "ALPHA 1" 12. Adjust the ff: Radius 8-12 Brightness: 5-10 (optional) Noise: 2-4 (Uniform) Monochromatic: CHECK 13. then click OK 13. Flatten Image (Ctrl Shift E for Windows, CMD Shift E for MAC)
