NCP Immobility

The nursing diagnosis was impaired physical mobility related to pain or discomfort in the client's back. Short term goals included the client demonstrating knowledge of range of motion exercises and expressing willingness to participate in care after 1 hour. Long term goals included stating relief of pain, increasing mobility, improving activities of daily living, and achieving a functional mobility scale of 0 after 3 days. The nursing intervention was to implement range of motion exercises and promote progressive mobilization. The rationale was to prevent muscle atrophy, complications of immobility, and relieve the pain causing impaired mobility. The evaluation was to assess if goals were met after the designated time periods.
